when they let u out for an errand.....have someone sit near the phone and then when u come back ....slowly very slowly creep to your house, once you are in range your phone will ring once.......now you know how far away you can go:)

I am on one ... I will have my girlfriend observe the lights on it when I can get out tomorrow. I think the light turns red also once you are out of the set range. The homeguard 200 ISN'T one of the alcohol sensitive ones either.

Homeguard 200 is a piece of shit. My boyfriend is now in jail after doing 60 days of a 90 day in house arrest. The monitor said he never came home on Christmas Eve . That's funny I was there eating chinese food and opening gifts with him all night.
I just stated a 60 day "bid" on this thing. My questions: So that means they can't really enforce "lockdown", if your yard is within "range" (Unless they drive by and see you outside). The light comes on when you are out of range right? And they call your phone when you are supposedly out of range when you are not supposed to be, I'm guessing this is why you can't have a wireless phone?. Any comments apprreciated!

My PO told me I can't even take out the garbage or get my mail! The dumpster is like 25ft from the front door. WTF. God this is gonna suck....242 days left. YAY!

This is friendly advice about the Homeguard 200 for all of you wondering. I have been on it now for 9 months, and have 1 month left to go. So hollykaye, I have you beat. I'll have been on this POS for 310 days when I finally get it off. Anyway, here is some basic info about it. The device on your wrist actually detects bone. So if you remove it from your foot, if it is too loose, etc... and it cannot detect bone then it contacts the monitoring station and you're fucked. As far as the distance goes, that is set by your Probation Officer. The best way to test how far you can go, is to have someone by the device as you walk around your home/living space. When the light is blinking yellow, you're out of range. You have 5 minutes to get back in to range before it 'phones home'.

You cant have sex with this thing on, I swim for a team, had to quit for a year, cant swim in my own pool, cant use my hottub, what about when it gets to summer? Im so jumping in my pool, they can bill me if they want!
I have been on house arrest since october 2008 because i was released on a 5k bond and pre-trial release-elmo. To answer Gregs statement yes you can have sex with it. Yet to this date i still havent had a court date because the state hasnt filed it yet. Im getting some what desperate and wanted to cut it off but from what i just read about the bone thing and all that ill keep it on, i think that the best thing to do is to either complte the sentence or in my case cut it off and turn my self in so i can get some time foir it insted of sitting here with my thumb up my ass. Currently im attending High School and its the only time im allowed to be outside. It's from 6am to 4pm. During that time i can go anywhere i want. Since its HomeGuard 200 not a GPS thing i can play hookie everynow and then and run errons because normaly my po only gives me a 2 hour period which is the time im would spend to go there and back. The best advice i have for anyone is to enroll in some sort of school in the mornin weather its be some sort of Ged thing or Trade school in the morning and a part-time at night. Even if u dont plan to go, you can enroll show ur po u schedule that way u can go anywhere u want in the mornin. Last thing i wanted to say if you do enrolle is that u need to make sure to follow the schedule because they know when u leave and dont leave wich would blow ur cover.
