The mighty i

I am an over user of Pronoun I and have judged myself into silence. I am a faithful over thinker, over organizer and I am over 50.  What am I waiting for?

To have a blog is to write on a regular basis.  To have a blog is to focus on one’s niche and stay there, attracting readers.  Ideally one is a smooth, cool blogger, espousing current thought and culture, rather than one’s own inner dialogue.  Teaching the world also embraces the notion of ‘good blogging.’

The use of ‘Pronoun I’ in more than one blogging paragraph (Generally this is a neat and tidy summary or opinion, barely audible to the reader’s ear) is considered narcissistically limited.

Forced to be Frugal and Self-Sufficient: Tip #1

How to get a cup of coffee when you lost your brakes so you have no car and your coffee machine broke.

Prepare the cash you need to purchase cup of coffee and place it, folded in your pants pocket. Also prepare your route so you are free to balance your coffee cup after mounting said bicycle.

Search the sky for any ominous cloud formations and don appropriate Gortex if needed.

Following your purchase, take several large gulps of coffee to decrease the liquid volume by 30%. DO NOT place cup in water holder or balance on seat of two-wheeler.

Telephone Dream

You told me you had a cold and felt “pukey,” and I listened like your Mom, telling you to come home, that you could stay home today.  We would watch movies together.

Maybe the Goose is in the Wind

The sopping, swollen wind is a constant drive today, heated from the friction of its own movement.  Although it does not belong, I am grateful for its temperature and reminded of months to come when it will bite notches from my skin, unless I escape, migrate or beam up.

BCC Me

I got one of those giant group emails recently.  It was a story I heard in the past many times over.  I think it might be in one of the Chicken Soup books.

Packing the Sea Glass

Having to start somewhere, I began packing that which I left behind on N Street.  Of course, I had used clear Liquid Nails to glue my seaglass to the fireplace mantle.  The stuff works great!  This time I am taking it with me, the happy glass all tucked into their baggies.

Imitation Superheroes and Crocs

Saturday on Memorial Day weekend is a busy time.  People become bumper cars in garden centers and hardware stores.   I appreciate holidays where stores are open and I can avoid the obvious holiday gaps.

My Canary in This Coal Mine

By Jove! I think spring sprung.  Budded buds are budding.  Leaves that left are returning and not leaving. Green is a verb again.  Seeded seeds seem to be seeding and water is more watery. Worms are worming at breakneck speeds.  Weeds require weeding.
