Faded and Strong

For me the question “Where Has Torri’s Bracelet Been” is one I have been
    thinking about. For me it is not so much about the physical part of it, but
    more of the mental part. Torri’s bracelet has given the strength to do so many
    things I never thought possible. When I am afraid of something I remember how
    fragile life is and I push through the fear. When life throws me a curve ball I
    look to my bracelet and remember something Lucy told me that tragic night in
    May. I do I really really try. Torri’s bracelet has helped me through so many
    challenging times. I remember one day over the summer when visiting Lucy I
    showed her my bracelet and how faded it was. She said “oh here let me give you
    another one”. I said “no thanks I like this one just fine” My beautifully faded
    bracelet reminds me every day of the challenges I have overcome and will
    overcome. When I look to it I feel a great sense of love and pride. I am proud
    to have been Touched by Torri.

I remember when you gave me one the first night I met you, in the second row of a Catholic Church, and neither of us was Catholic (but we found the priest very attractive….). I asked about the bracelet and you gave me one right off of your wrist and laughed and said “people might think you are a lesbian” and I said “oh, thats the least of my worries!”. Do you remember that at all? I have this bracelet, one from John A., one from Lance Armstrong, one from Bono, and one I did for a fundraiser for the Tsunami disaster on a statue of the Virgin Mary that my Dad’s second wife (who was not Catholic and didn’t like me, but that would take a website of its own to explain). Hey, I just took a picture and if I can figure out how to send it, you can put it here and save me a bunch of keystrokes and boring text! And, what a beautiful mother/daugher pose!

It is quiet and warm outside. Everything is different. Torri is still dead. Our house is gone. My car is totalled. My career has been taken away. The felt losses are the people, my daughter, my clients. The other things still do not matter. They never have.
